General Conference Highlights

Hola from the great state of NC!
Hope everyone had an amazing week and enjoyed our wonderful conference weekend hearing and applying the words of our living prophet and his apostles! How amazing is it that we live in a time where we can receive direct information from the lord through a prophet for the whole church! And how amazing is it that we can all receive similar revelation for us and our families as we pray!! AWESOME! I love the emphasis on how we can receive answers not in the way we want or the way we think, but we receive them in the lords time....some might even say.. "when the time is right"... lol.
I would love to hear back from you all who your favorite speaker was and why?

Some of my main take away were....
° "Learn and teach one another, this is not a new concept"- Elder Soares
° "As we invite they need to see us delight." - Elder Soares ( I love this one!!!! As people see us in our daily life living the gospel of Jesus Christ they will see our light and want that in their life!)
° "it is impossible to live a perfect life. We may not be perfect, but we can be worthy" - Sister craven (LOVE THIS!!!)
° One take away I loved from Elder hales talk was that none of the prophets of the book of Mormon (especially Mormon and Moroni) ever saw the fruits of their labor in their lifetime!! That gave me alot of peace to know out here in this work lots of things I say or do wont be anything life changing in this life but it will be impactful in the next!!!! I loved his talk a lot!! Top 5 for sure lol.
° AND HELLO HOW COULD I NOT LOVE ELDER UCHTDORFS TALK!!!!
Let me just recap those 5 guilt free things you can do to share the gospel now!!
1. Draw closer to God.
2. Fill your heart with love for others
3. Strive to walk the path of discipleship.
4. Share what is in your heart.
5. Trust in the lord to work miracles.
Easy peasy you all can do those things! I'm so excited to work with members in order to help them follow the council of the lords apostle!!
Come and see
Come and help
Come and STAY!!!
I LOVE ELDER UCHTDORF
° several people mentioned turning your home into an MTC which I LOVED!!!
° "Bask in the light of Christ" Elder Ballard!! LOVE!!!
° "listen with the intent to obey" Elder Anderson!!
° " LEARNING THE WAY THE HOLY GHOST SPEAKS TO US IS A LIFE LONG QUEST!" Elder Homer! AMEN!! His talk was one of my favs!!!! He really hit home for me!!!
Learning how to understand the spirit and acknowledge when we are receiving answers to prayer vs heavenly father trusting us with our agency to make the right choice!!! Ahhh I love it!
° THEN MY GRANDPA ELDER HOLLAND JUST CALLED US EACH TO REPENTANCE IN OUR SABBATH DAY OBSERVANCE!! How cool was that I hope you will all take his words to heart!
° " you dont earn blessings, you have to qualify for them"
"Sometimes all you have to do is ASK"
"Pray, push on, pray again"
"Cheerfully do all things and be still"
-Elder Redlund SOOO GOOD PEOPLE!!!!
° Shout out to 30% of full time missionaries being sisters! Whoo sisters rule!!!!
°I LOVED Tad R Callisters comparison to the man jumping from the plane so cool!
LAWS OF GRAVITY= LAWS OF JUSTICE!!
the laws are unchanging but as we act and use the atonement In our lives we can land safely in the arms of Jesus! There is a wonderful scripture that reminded me of this in Mormon 5:11
11 For I know that such will sorrow for the calamity of the house of Israel; yea, they will sorrow for the destruction of this people; they will sorrow that this people had not repented that they might have been CLASPED IN THE ARMS OF JESUS.
° then our dear prophet dropped the bomb on us that TIME IS RUNNING OUT... WOW... no pressure or anything... how exciting.
By not accepting the gospel we are settling for second best!
° "Repentance is not an event, it is a never ending experience" -Elder Oaks
° I LOVED BEDNARS TALK OF TEMPLES!!! They are wonderful! He explained so beautifully how we can talk about them and keep them sacred!

Wow.... okay sorry got a little Carried away with my conference notes but it was just too good!!!

Other then conference this week was pretty tame. My leg is still healing so that's been fun.
Kenzie is getting all prepped for next week we are so so so excited for her to take these next steps in her life!! She is the cutest!! We got to watch two sessions with her and she loved it!

This week was awesome tho because this area is finally starting to feel like home to me! I am loving getting to know all the members and good people of Fayetteville! Something that is hard about this area is how many military people are here so it is hard to teach or make connections with a lot of people because they know they are just going to leave. We got to teach someone this week named troy, he texted us the day we had an appointment with him and said he was getting deployed at 16:00 so we needed to come earlier to meet! We ran out the door and taught him and invited him to read the book of Mormon! He put it in his bag and left right after we left! He promised he would read it on his flight and find us when he gets back! We hope so! The book of Mormon is the greatest book and I hope he takes the time among the craziness of his life in the army to find peace in the pages!

This week sister Harmon and I also posted a video on Facebook of us singing count your many blessings! I love that song and how it reminds us to always appreciate the little things in life!

I love BEING A MISSIONARY!!! The church is true!!! I hope you all have the best week ever and find ways to love those around you as the Savior!
LOVE,
Sister Kinne
