Wow what an amazing week!
I was able to feel the prayers of so many of you this week and see so many prayers of my own get answered!
Transfers are on Tuesdays and I'm leaving Pittsboro... my heart broke when I found out. I have learned to LOVE everything about this place! The people, the members, the nature, the small town feel that is here, EVERYTHING! Pittsboro will always hold a special place in my heart. <3 Sister Durfey is staying so I know it is in good hands!
This was the best last week I could have asked for! We started last week out by fasting and let me tell ya, fasting works folks. We were both fasting to find at least one new and solid person this week! And lo and behold Brian fell right into our lap! Brian is a referral from someone in Utah!! They were friends in college and Brian reached out to him with questions and asked him if he would be willing to meet with the missionaries! HE SAID YES! Ah so we called him and met up the next day! He is so awesome and so smart! We had 3 lessons with him and he came to church! He lives in Raleigh but is building In our ward boundaries so he drives about 45 min to come meet with us! COMMITMENT! He had some questions about the word of wisdom we were able to answer them and commit him to living it! Something I love about missionary work is the faith that people can gain so quickly willing to change their lifestyle because of faith! Faith has to be there before anything else, that's why it is the first principle of the gospel. If we have faith everything else will fall into place! Another thing I love is how pure the prayers of nonmembers are! We asked him to pray in one of the lessons this week and he was so willing and gave the most pure and simple prayers. It reminds me that Heavenly Father knows and hears each of our desires and will answer as we are pure in heart! I'm sad that I wont get to continue teaching him but I know that the ward will take good care of him! <3
There Is a talk on TheChurchofJesusChrist.org that I need all of you to read! It Is called "How to pray in a way God can answer" by Celeste Davis. I know that God always answers our prayers but it may not be in ways we always recognize! Take the time to learn about how we gain answers to our prays and apply it into your daily prayer routine!
We had our last district council this transfer. Our stake center shares a parking lot with the temple in North Carolina and we get to see the progress of it weekly! Captain Moroni is finally on! I could not be more thrilled and look so forward to the day I get to go inside this beautiful house of the Lord!
We had the chance to do ALOT of service this week! We were able to serve in peoples homes, at church and organizations and able to have many gospel based lessons which was awesome!! Here are some fun service stories of the week!
Our church building is getting expanded because we outgrew the place! And they haven't even been there a year!!! So exciting for them!! So we helped them dig the plants out to save! We both took a brick to remember the good ole pittsboro building!
Soooo as we were serving someone in the community this week she asked us to come help her with some things around her house. So we went over and she gave us some gloves and asked us to clean off the shelves in her bedroom. So we did. As we were cleaning I opened a box on the top shelf trying to feel around for what was in there. I asked her if she wanted to keep the boxes... "yes... my grandpa's ashes are in there..." oh awesome now that I have grandpa ashes all over my hand!!! Ahhhhh. COMPLETE ACCIDENT So that was funny hahah
I LOVE PITTSBORO! I have grown so much here in my testimony and love of the savior that it is somewhere that I will always love and cherish so special to me. (Also 1000% would move back here one day but dont tell my parents I said so) I'm so grateful for all of you and hope that everyone is happy and healthy at home!
Have the best week! I cant wait to report from my next area next week! Any guesses???
