Endless Mission Memories

Another week come and gone. Time is so weird here! I swear the days have 900 hours and I blink and its pday again! We have been staying super busy here in Apex this last week with our temple assignment, Sister Smith and I are continually grateful for the amazing opportunity to be HERE during the open house and so involved in the process! We had a meeting with President and Sister Holland this week and this is truly going to be a driving force for missionary work for months and months:))) while we were at their house I got to hang out with my buddy hank (the dog) I love him!!! I'll attach some pics of us hanging out! Haha

Exchanges: this week sister Evan's and I went on exchanges! She is so awesome she is from California and is a mandrin speaking missionary! We did service and taught some awesome lessons it was a good exchange! We had dinner with agnes, someone we are teaching and her daughter lyric, she is so crazy!!! But I love her!!!! She sat her chair right next to me and wanted to do everything that I was doing, including eating my food hahaah.

OH MAN! I GOT A GOOD STORY FOR YOU THIS WEEK! So sister Evan's and I were out contacting in an apartment complex talking to these guys outside and we hear someone from the 3rd story directly above us say "hey girls, you wanna hear the good word come on up here".... we were like ohhhhh NO, first of all super creepy, but we told him if he wants to talk he can come down to us. He was hesitant at first and we kept on with our convo before, we started to leave and he was like "WAIT, I'm coming" oh boy sister Evan's and I did not know what to expect. He told us his name was Isacc and gave us the wettest hand shake on earth! He wanted us to flip open the bible to Exodus 30:23-24 talking about this holy oil that can heal, he opened his trench coat, yes he was wearing a trench coat and pulls out this mad scientist looking container full of this cloudy oil, he proceeded to tell us that this was the oil from exodus.... and that is was all over his hands so now that we shook his hands that we now have the power to heal and raise the dead till it wears off... oh boy! He also told us that if we pour this oil on a dead person "BOOM", they will come back alive. Isacc was a nice guy quite the character for sure.

We exchanged back at an Asian market place called H-mart and I can say that this was probably the most exotic food I have had my whole mission. We got these things called gua-bao, it is Taiwanese and basically steamed bread with pork, veggies and peanut sauce, also Taiwanese sweet potato fried with plum sugar on it! It was super interesting! I'm glad I tried it! It was definitely different! Hahah :)

We had another fun cultural experience this week. A lady named luisa from Germany invited us to come over for lunch. He brother in law is a member and they appreciate what we do as Missionaries! She fed us German sausages and stroodle! It was so yummy hahah :) they are so sweet and they are going to be coming to the open house with their brother we are so excited. We know the temple will be the key to softening so many hearts to hearing about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ!

HEARTBREAK!
This week so many of our plans with people were canceled last min, and we didnt have a car so that meant that we walked. We had lots of chances to store contact and testify to random people in random places. But we were in this store called 5 below end of the night, no one would give us the time of day, EXAUSTED, but we were still trying our best to contact and testify to people. We met this man who was a war vet on one of the issels of the store. He stared talking about his religious background and he started talking to us about how he seaks truth and believes in asking questions and finding answers, he also said he doesn't believe that anything happens on accident! What a perfect person to testify of the Book of Mormon and Joseph Smith! So we did and the spirit was so strong during our conversation, but when we offered him a Book of Mormon and promised him blessings of finding answers to his questions. He said no! I swear I felt my heart actually break! He felt the spirit, he knows we did not meet him by coincidence and still said no! I have not stopped thinking and praying about John since and how badly I want him as my brother to accept and learn about the gospel of Jesus Christ!

Lastly we did some fun service this week for some people who moved here from California! We unloaded their moving truck and helped them start to get settled in! His boss back in CA is a member hooked us up to go and help! It was a blast and we had some really awesome gospel convo with them especially the wife we were able to give her a Book of Mormon!

Sorry these updates are so long but I am making so many good memories out on my mission that are teaching me such good life skills and I never want to forget! I love being a missionary and all the growth I get to see of those around me but mostly the growth in myself and towards my savior! I love you all! Hope you have the best week ever!
