HEY,
Sorry I didn't send an email last week... 1 year in and I broke my streak haha
These last few weeks have honestly been really tough and emotional for me, but I have been learning so that is good!
Lots has happened...
I went on exchanges with Sister Cook which was a blast! We had an awesome exchange, Sister Cook and I had plans to go to target and store contact around 8 pm because being outside after 8 is no good here! It is pitch black and everyone always says " What are you girls doing out so late, its not safe" HONEY I SERVED IN FAYETTEVILLE NOTHIN IN APEX CAN SCARE ME!... anyways... We pulled up to target and saw another missionary car in the parking lot, so we thought it would be better for us to go to Khols just down the street! Contacting in stores can be tricky, but we had an awesome conversation with this cute teenage girl, about 17 years old, and she was super interested in our missions and the Book of Mormon. She had to get going but we exchanged numbers and we went on our way... a few minutes later this lady comes up to us and was like " Did you just get my daughters number?" Yes ma'am "Well she is a minor and you should not be getting the phone numbers of young girls, DELETE her phone number RIGHT NOW." ...So we did...
We felt so awk so we decided to leave... and on our way out...A COP PULLED UP AND ASKED US IF WE WERE THE SISTER MISSIONARIES WHO GOT THIS GIRLS NUMBER BECAUSE THEY GOT A CALL OF A CONCERNED PARENT... So now I can officially say I got the cops called on me. OOPS
We had the mission tour with Elder and Sister Stanfill which was amazing! We got to hear from them 2 days in a row at MLC and Zone conference! There was a huge focus on charity and covenants!
Something I am trying to be better at is having more charity and remember that EVERY SINGLE PERSON IS A PRECIOUS CHILD OF HIS. Which can be difficult especially when people love to tell you that you don't have a clue! BUT Heavenly Father loves them and so should I!
WE HAD AN AMAZING LESSON WITH MADDIE! She is 11 so keeping her attention can be difficult at times. So we decided to have a lesson at the church and allow it to be pretty interactive! We taught the plan of salvation with big posters we had made throughout the church building, it was quite the production! BUT WOW WAS THE SPIRIT THERE! We had an amazing member to be there and testify of this plan and her personal experiences with it! IT WAS AMAZING! After that maddie was on board, and she came to church this last week for the first time in a long time! IT WAS AWESOME!
We had our first ever Zone meeting. The Apex zone has been struggling, but as we came and counciled together we were able to find so much strength in knowing we are all in this together! When you are struggling, surround yourself with people that will motivate and uplift! As we were out contacting this week this lady stopped us and ran in her house grabbed a mini new testament and told us we need to read the instructions in the back to be saved, I tried to give her a book back, the Book of Mormon of course, BUT she was cooking inside... SOUTHERNERS.. gotta love em.Halloween! We helped out with our service to decorate for Christmas all morning so it was super confusing that it was halloween, lol but we had Sloppy Joes out of a pumpkin which was a blast! These are just some moments we had this last week that reminded me that God is in the details. On October 30th we were on our bikes, waiting for a crosswalk, when a car (with someone we have been hoping to teach inside) pulls up to the light and stops directly in front of us. We talked to her through her window.
Then we knocked on one door (we just had time for one), and someone we do service with happened to live there and let us in.On October 31st we walked out of a visit with a member and ran into someone we used to teach that almost got baptized. We visited with her for a few minutes. We kept going and ran into another person we used to teach, who scheduled an appointment with us right then. That evening for dinner we were eating with a family member, the Buchkovich's, who we have been trying (unsuccessfully) to introduce to a family that we are teaching. After dinner we were outside with Sister Buchkovich, about to get in the car to leave, when the mother from the family we are working with walks by. They got to meet and chat.On November 1st we were at a stop sign on our bikes, waiting to turn onto a busy road, when a woman pulls over next to us and starts taking pictures of us. She is working on a school project and needed pictures of "happiness". We talked to her and got her information to send to the sisters where she lives. On November 2nd we rode past a couple walking down the road. We stopped to talk. They used to be taught by an unusually tall Elder from Utah and his significantly less memorable companion while they lived in Columbia. They gave us their information so the local Spanish missionaries could come visit.I would call these all "right time, right place" moments we've had lately.Friends, we live in a day of Miracles. God loves His children. So I am in a Trio...AGAIN...Sister Foresberg will be with us for the next two weeks so off to our next adventure!Love you all! I would love to hear from you all and hear how life is!Keep saying your prayers, God loves you, I love you!Have a blessed week!
Sister Kinne
