Hello my beautiful family and friends from all over the world! I was on cloud nine listening to the Prophet and Apostles address us this weekend! How incredibly blessed are we to be apart of a church that includes continued revelation! I love and sustain Russell M Nelson as the prophet leading and guiding Christs church on the earth today!
I have a few favorites I wanted to share from conference and some funny stories from this week.
- Conference (or church, missions) will mean little to nothing to us if we dont find Christ in the center of it all.
- Less wifi, more Nephi.
- Prioritizing the busness of life is like putting money into a pocket with holes in it.
- When we give our missions or our life all we have we WILL have the best time!
- MY FAVORITE STORY was the story of the deer that were fed hay. Hay had no nutritional value for them so they died with full stomachs. WE MUST BE FILLING OUR LIVES WITH THINGS THAT WILL NOURISH OUR SPIRITS, we were spirits before and we will be spirits again!
- Nephi, Moses and the brother of Jared all faced the same problem. They needed to cross a body of water. They each prayed and God inspired and helped them each in a different way. We must find "a" way as we seek revelation not "the" way.
- TRUST in the Lord, just trust!
- Oddly enough I learned so much about satan this conference. He is working hard to lure us away from the path! We must learn how to combat and be watchful of the attacks of the adversary.
- Satan is literally damned, similar to how a dam blocks the progression of water he is stuck and bitter. He attacks the one thing he doesn't have! The body.
- The goal was not to make church 1 hour shorter but rather 6 days longer.
- We must live the council we give others.
- Keeping promises is not a habit, it is a characteristic.
- Some people walked for long distances to find christ, others just reached out their hands. We are all on a journey to find Christ.
- The days of quiet and comfortable Christians are gone.
- The gospel is so simple that a child can understand it, yet so complex it takes a lifetime of faithful living to understand it.
- JESUS RESCUES, HEALS, LIFTS, CARRIES US.
- Personal holiness= Happiness
- Dont miss an opportunity to show someone you love them.
HOW CAN WE NOT BE EXCITED FOR NEXT CONFERENCE?!? PRESIDENT NELSON IS A MASTER AT LEAVING THE WHOLE CHURCH ON A CLIFF HANGER!
I LOVE CONFERENCE and I was able to learn so much! I would love to hear all of your thoughts and feelings you learned this conference!
We had some pretty HILARIOUS things happen this week in Apex!
We were leaving our apartment for the day and needed to take our trash out. We had to throw away basically a whole watermelon. On the way down the stairs sister smith goes " man I hope this doesn't break" as she said that her whole bag busted open and there was trash everywhere! I DIED LAUGHING!! Our friend who works at the apartment complex, Dustin, saw the whole thing happen. He yelled from the across the parking lot and the first thing he said was "SAY A SWEAR WORD" that just made us laugh even harder!! You had to be there but sometimes it is refreshing to just laugh at those things that happen to us in the fallen world!
We were in a members house teaching a lesson about the temple. It was super spiritual and their 3 year old boy had some paper airplanes around during our lesson. He threw one right at Sister Smith and it barely didn't hit her! One of the other boys in the family exclaimed "PROTECTED BY GOD!" We all busted up laughing, and moments later another paper airplane goes flying and hits me SQUARE IN THE FOREHEAD! WE ALL DIED!!! So apparently, Sister Smith is more holy than I am hahahaha!
We got to do some fun service this week including painting a room for Agnes and Lyric Bright pink! It was so fun! Service has become one of my very favorite part of my mission!
I have a testimony of the Book of Mormon and love it more and more each time I read it! If you dont have a relationship with your scriptures I invite you to do so! They will bring so much light into your life!
I love being a missionary and I love you all! Keep the faith!
Love Sister Kinne
