HOLY COW! WHAT A WEEK!
This week was PHENOMENAL! We were about the busiest sister missionaries on the whole planet EARTH! But this week was full of so many miracles and blessings from the Lord!!
We have been working super HARD this last week in preparation for sisters conference and I tell you it was AWESOME! We had some amazing guest speakers (my old friend Stephanie Neilson, and Sister Nichols, previously known as sister Voyles from the district!) and things just came together beautifully, even though outside the church building was HURRICANE DORIAN hahah!! MAN, CRAZY WEEK!
In preparation for sisters conference Sister Smith and I were called as the temple open house trainers for the sisters, which has been soooo fun! On Wednesday night we had the chance to go meet with President and Sister Holland and go over and run through the meeting... after everything was said and done it was nearly 10:30 PM probably the only night that will ever happen on my mission Haha! But it was so fun!! Then up at 5am the next day to go over and get everything preped... oh did I mention we are on bikes this week Haha! But the Lord provides a way!

We gathered all of the sisters in the mission to Apex for a Sister's Conference where we trained them on how to physically and spiritually prepare for the temple, and how to perform their roles in the open house. Teaching 80 sister missionaries is a little different than teaching a non member the gospel, I'll tell ya that! haha. It went so great though. We took pictures in the rain, we laughed, we cried, we bore testimony and were spiritually uplifted. I feel so blessed to be a sister missionary. You never know how much work goes into something until you are on the other end of it! I feel so incredibly blessed to have the Hollands as our mission president and wife they are amazing and have such a love for this gospel!
Sister Nielson was wonderful as usual and talked about having missionary work in your blood. That means that the drive to share the gospel runs through you, excites you, livens you. Ask yourself if missionary work is in your blood- and if it's not, take some supplements! Read your scriptures and Preach My Gospel and pray for it because this is the MOST IMPORTANT work on the face of the earth. Don't make excuses and don't wait! LET'S GATHER ISRAEL!
HURRICANE DORIAN... I'll let President Holland tell this story.
"For a second year in a row, I have been given a witness that the Lord loves his temples and protects them and his missionaries. Hurricane Dorian was a historic category 5 storm and, at different points, was set to make direct landfall in two places: initially Haiti and then later North Carolina. At the last minute it skirted Haiti and went to the Bahamas. In the Bahamas, it created massive destruction (death count still rising, 70,000 people displaced). Then it headed straight for the Carolinas but as it reached North Carolina it quickly decelerated to a category 1 storm, and just barely grazed the coast with minimal damage. Miraculously, not a single missionary was harmed in the Bahamas, despite widespread damage all around. And, what do Haiti and North Carolina have in common: temple events. Haiti's temple was rededicated on Sept. 1, and North Carolina is gearing up, as you well know for the temple open house. Had the storms hit Haiti and NC as predicted it would have completely disrupted both events. Yet, against virtually every computer model prediction, those storms were veered another direction in the final moments. I am not alone in my witness that the hand of the Lord intervened to protect his missionaries in the midst of chaos in the Bahamas and to protect His temple events in Haiti and North Carolina... Let us all rejoice in the mercy and goodness of God who has protected us, our fellow servants in the Bahamas, and these sacred temple moments that will do so much to bless Haiti and North Carolina."
In teaching news:
Agnes is doing PHENOMENAL! She opened up to us this week about some of the struggles she has had in her life! She has seen so many blessings in her life these last few weeks and totally attributes it to the gospel! She is going out of her way to live the word of wisdom and looks amazing! It is so amazing how as someone comes closer to God they have a recognizable change in them spiritually and physically! They GLOW with the spirit! That has been one of my very most favorite parts of being a missionary is being able to see the light within these people grow!!
I was very lucky this week and got to bring Brayden over to my hometown of Pittsboro for a beautiful baptism! It was so great for him to see! keep him in your prayers!
Things have been pretty slow rolling with the people we are teaching but if there is one thing that I have learned in my life... on my mission... and I'm sure something that I will continue to learn for the rest of my LIFE... is that it is all in the Lords timing... some might even say... WHEN THE TIME IS RIGHT... but REALLY! The Lord knows best, he is in control! One lesson that touched me this week in sisters conference was that "we must ALWAYS surrender our will to the Lords timing." As hard as it is, it will help us feel more happiness in this life and have a stronger relationship with Christ!
One of my fav scriptures as of recently is alma 34:16 " And thus mercy can satisfy the demands of justice, and encircles them in the arms of safety, while he that exercises no faith unto repentance is exposed to the whole law of the demands of justice; therefore only unto him that has faith unto repentance is brought about the great and eternal plan of redemption."

How POWERFUL! Jesus Christ provides arms of safety!
I want to end with quick experience we had this week. I was a little down one day this week and had said a prayer to Heavenly Father to just let me be an answer to someones prayer today... So we went out and just tried. We came across this women in this super random way and started talking to her... She has 6 kids and 9 grandkids and they are her WORLD we testified to her how she could be with her family forever through the temple! we talked to her about the Book of Mormon, she said she stoped going to church because they didn't feed her soul anymore, we told her that the Book of Mormon could! and she said "Good cause I'm hungry" HAHA I LOVED IT!!!!
We set up a time to come and visit with her and help her soul be fed and she said in knew that she needed to be where she was today and we were an answer to her prayer.
GOD IS AWARE AND ANSWERS ALL PRAYERS IN ANY ROUND ABOUT WAY!!
I love you all and as always I love being a Missionary!
Say your prayers, read your scriptures FEED YOUR SOUL!
Love,
Sister Kinne
