LEARN, GROW, BE YOURSELF!

Hello! Happy August! Yet another week here in the humid heat and thunderstorms of North Carolina! I hope everyone is enjoying every last moment of the summer! We have been crazy busy here in apex!

We had zone conference this week and I learned a ton!!!! We got lots of guidance and instruction on how we can use the temple opening here in the best most powerful way we can! President Holland told us that if we can do this right the open house will be moving the missionary work forward through the end of the year!! We are so thrilled to be right here for it all!
President Holland also had the opportunity to go and listen to Elder Bednar speak in our mission just a few weeks ago! I would love to share the council he gave with you all today!
First of all he told us that apostolic keys never travel anywhere by accident! There is always a reason! He told the members in this tiny, tiny town in North Carolina, almost off the map, that there are dozens and dozens of people here, waiting to hear the message of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ! And if there are dozens of people there what does it mean for placed like Apex or Layton where it is highly populated! There are hundreds of people all around us each day and like In Amos 8:11 seeking, but know not where to find it!! The one thing we can do to help these people find is to pray! Something that we should be doing everyday! he gave the following direction to this ward and I give the same invitation to you!

PRAY EVERY MORNING AND NIGHT...
1. To be lead and guided to missionary opportunities.
2. To be able to recognize the opportunities when they come.
3. For the Courage to act on them.
4. Specifically for the work to go forward in your own personal ward or stake, rather then generally.

IF you will do this WE WILL find people to teach and baptize!
That is an apostolic promise!!! HOW COOL!!

We also talked alot about having a mighty change of heart like in Alma 5.
I am happy to tell you all that I am not the same person I was from when I left on my mission! I have a greater understanding of Gods love not only for me as his daughter, but everyone who has ever lived! I have learned how important making good choices and loving life and adversity when it comes! LIFE IS HARD, BUT THE GOSPEL IS NOT! We are so blessed to have a knowledge of the plan of happiness and everyone on this earth deserves to know about how they can be healed and live with their families again through Christ!
I still have so much to learn! As someone I used to teach said " I am a baby in the faith" but I am so excited to continually be learning and growing closer to my Savior for the rest of my days on this earth and beyond!

I learned this week about a man named John Tanner in church history! HIS STORY IS SO INSPIRING if you have some time to watch this video about him I highly recommend!! He was someone who was willing to give up everything to follow the Savior and had faith enough in him to be healed! I want to have the faith of John Tanner!  https://www.churchofjesuschrist.org/media-library/video/2010-07-139-treasure-in-heaven-the-john-tanner-story?lang=eng

The work has been a roller coaster ride here! Brayden got put on and taken off date for baptism! He feels like he needs to KNOW everything before he can be baptized. So we are working on faith to act with him! he totally has a testimony and totally has the influence of the spirit! Keep him in your prayers! Agnes is doing awesome too! Tia moves next week and we are so sad but she said she will hopefully be baptized in September!

Its been pretty wet and hot here so that means the mosquitoes multiply in size and sister smith and i both look like we have leprosy from all the bites! HAHAH One evening we were driving from visit to visit and the rain got so bad we had to pull over until it calmed down, but we were not about to let prime time slip through our hands so we decided to go to Target and store contact! We ran inside as fast as we could and there were SOOO many people there waiting out the rain when they saw us running inside in our dresses SOAKING WET they couldn't help but laugh and start up conversation with us. It was pretty fun and we met some cool people!

Last and final finding event of the week! We have been trying our best to do creative contacting and so this week we made a count your blessings board and took it downtown asking what people were thankful for in their life!

I am so thankful to be a missionary and to be here in North Carolina! i am so thankful for my family and the love they have for me as well as my Savior!

I wanted to share one more video link with yall! we watched this in sunday school and truly helped me feel the spirit and thought it might touch one of you today!
LOVE YOU ALL!!
Sister Kinne

Now what you have all been waiting for....PICTURES!

1 & 2. COUNT YOUR BLESSINGS BOARD
3. SOAKIN WET IN TARGET
4. ZONE CONFERENCE
5. OKAY... Funny story with this one... So this is brayden and we were teaching him the plan of salvation last week and we decided before hand that PMG doesn't talk about the veil of forgetfulness so we were NOT going to include it in the lesson. We usually teach the lessons with cut outs to make it more simple on everyone.SO when we went back for our next lesson, brayden pulled the cut out of the veil of forgetfulness out and said "UH i think you guys forgot this last time" HAHAHAH WE DIED LAUGHING!!!
6. Biking ;)))
7. OKAY...ANOTHER funny story with this one.... SO we were out doing service at Habitat for humanity and one of the workers handed me this role of saran wrap for rolling things together, but naturally me being me i decide wow i wonder what it would look like if i press this against my face... that is what i would look like if i pressed it against my face...HAHAH anyways so this guy was standing near by, he saw me, started laughing and said "that is the strangest thing ive ever seen!" We start talking to him and turns out he would love to learn more about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. Hopefully we can get in contact with him this week and see where things go.
MORAL OF THE STORY!!! BE YOURSELF!!! PEOPLE WILL BE DRAWN TO YOU AS YOU SHARE YOUR LIGHT AND YOUR PERSONALITY FREELY!!!
