HAPPY THANKSGIVING! HOPE EVERYONE ATE UNTIL THEY COULDNT EAT ANYMORE! Such a fun holiday to be with family and friends and remember what we are thankful for! This year I am most thankful for the savior and his infinite sacrifice for me and everyone on this earth, I've been so blessed to be able to have been raised in this gospel and want everyone to feel of the joy and peace that comes from the saviors atonement! I'm also thankful to be serving a full time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints I have loved every minute of this opportunity! And even though my family is all the way across the country I'm so grateful for them and the love I feel for them each day!
ANYWAYS.... another great week in pittsboro! I have the very unique opportunity to go on exchanges every week so far in my mission which is not the norm at all, but because my comp is an STL that's what I get to do too hahah. So on exchanges this week with sister simoes we were in cary and got to teach the plan of salvation together which was great! I haven't had the change to teach many full lessons yet because we opened the area so it has been hard to get into people's houses but that was really cool for me! Then we tracted into a Muslim family and they were so amazing and sweet. They welcomed us into their home and we had a wonderful conversation about Jesus Christ and gave them a book of mormon. :) Later that night we ate a super yummy French dish that they made for sister simoes because she is from France! They made Blanquette and it was super yummy and she was so happy to get a little taste of home:)
This week I also learned something about prayer! PRAYER WORKS! When you turn to God asking with a sincere heart and real intent HE WILL ANSWER YOUR PRAYERS! As you prepare yourself to receive answers you WILL get them! I know that God is aware of me personally and you personally and wants you to be happy and follow him. Pray often that you can find answers to your prayers and live in a way that makes you worthy to receive those answers!
Then Thursday came! Thanksgiving is a hard day to be a missionary because either no one is home, everyone is over at someone's home, or people dont want visitors but we were blessed with the opportunity to go to 3 Thanksgiving dinners from our wonderful members! We started the feast at 1 at the Conrad's which was a big fun family and friends party that was a big reminder of home which was nice! Then we went to the Shues at 4 then the Blacks at 6 they were the best ever! By 8 we both felt like if we even saw any more food we would vomit hahah! We love this ward and are so blessed with amazing members who will always make sure we are taken care of. We also visited the nursing home to say Happy Thanksgiving to the cute old ladies who didn't have anyone visit them this year.
And now that Thanksgiving is over... let Christmas begin! We are starting our #LightTheWorld initiative and are soooooo excited! Sister Nicolosi and I feel that the technology resources we have been given as missionaries should be used to invite others to come until christ not only in our area but at home as well as on the internet! We are going to be making videos each week for light the world and NEEEEED/would LOVEEEEE your help!!! As an individual we would love if you could share a video with us of you telling us where you are from and how you will light the world from there! For example " I can light the world from_______ by________" or as a family "i can light my family by______" we really feel strongly about using our resources to share the gospel and would be over the moon happy if you would help us :) we made a Thanksgiving video this week that you can find on my Facebook, we got lots of positive feedback and would love to continue to light the world this year!
Sister nicolosi and I are also starting a 40 day fast, not a fast of food of food or water but a fast from our weaknesses! For example we are fasting from any negative thoughts or selfish desire! I'm really excited to begin this fast and let the savior be my strength in my very weak mortal state! Ether 12:17 read this and listen to the conference talk "what lack I yet?" By Larry R. Lawrence from October 2015 and have a nice good convo with God on how you can become stronger through Jesus Christ!
I am so grateful to be apart of this great work! I love you all and gratful for all of your sweet letters and prayers!
I'd love it if you sent me Christmas cards this year! My address is 25 Creekside Cir, Pittsboro, NC 27312 apartment #31
Love you all! Have a blessed week
