Wow! So I have 2 amazing weeks to tell you all about!!! I don't even know where to start!?!?!
So I guess I'll start with the end of my MTC life!! It was a great week! We were able to hear from sister and elder carpenter of the seventy which was so awesome! They talked to us about the importance of companionship on the mission and in this life! One thing that really stood out to me was that they said there are 2 types of happy companionships 1. Where both companions are unified in obedience 2. Where both companions are unified in disobedience. Which I thought was just amazing and super helpful to encourage obedience in life and on the mission! My teachers were so great and I'll miss them so much and all the amazing lessons and spiritual insights that they taught us! The MTC specializes in spoon feeding you spiritual experiences! I loved my district and it was hard to say bye to them but they will all be amazing missionaries!
Then the flight! We woke up at 3:30 am Monday morning, took a bus, the trax, the tram, then finally got to the airport! It was fun to be in the real world and in Utah of course everyone loved to say hi to the missionaries and talk to us, then we flew 4 hours to Raleigh, and the looks began hahah we all thought it was great though! And when we all saw our mission president we couldn't wipe the huge smiles off our faces!!! PRESIDENT HOLLAND AND HIS WIFE ARE THEEEEE MOST AMAZINGLY PERFECT RADIENT SPIRITUAL BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE ON THIS EARTH!!! I couldn't be more thrilled having them as our mission president! We got to eat dinner at their house and he shared with us the importance of simple I know testimonies! To bare testimony all you need to say is I know, and then continue to say what you know because the spirit has testified it to you. The other stuff in testimonies are good, you should still be grateful and share experiences when needed but the spirit bares witness when you tell the things that you know by witness of the spirit! SUPER POWERFUL STUFF! That night we stayed in a hotel then the next morning went to training and got to meet our trainer!
I LOVE MY TRAINER!!!! Her name is Sister Nicolosi and she is from rexburg Idaho! She is so so sweet and so good at pushing me outside my comfort zone! And we have a car which is super nice!!
Funny story..... so the first night we went to go look for our apt and it is like pitch black out by 5:30 which stinks hahah but anyways we were looking and looking and looking for apt 25 we were outside walking our complex for probably 45 min we would find 24 then it would jump to 31 and we were dying! 45 min later we recheck the address.... it was 31....so we had been standing in front of it for the last 45 min! And we both died of laughter!!!! We went tracting immediately after and knocked 3 doors and gave out 4 book of mormons which is so crazy awesome! We have been in contact with them all and are excited to see them progress!
We are serving in Pittsboro NC and this area was closed for a transfer so we are essentially white washing the area, and my trainer is an stl so it has been a super busy crazy week of us trying to figure things out!
We have THEE MOST AMAZING WARD! They are soooooo missionary minded and focused on inviting others to come into christ by recieving the restored gospel! It has been amazing getting to know them through meals and church activities! I'm so excited to see the work that we will be able to do with their help!
On Thursday I went on exchange with sister Simoes, from france, in Cary which was fun....except for the bible bash we got into with this one women she told US the following about what we believe.... I quote.... " yall baptize your dogs.....Yall worship Donald Trump.... how many sister wives y'all have?...y'all arnt even christen.... y'all don't know what the bible is....alchohol is illegal in Utah.... y'all have no charity.... y'all hate all the gays...." she was such a lovely woman..... lolololol so strange what people think about members of the church. So many people said "oh y'all the mormons?" Super funny the things people think
We haven't had any bbq yet which I'm shocked by but I'm sure I'll get some soon enough, but the rest of the things I heard about NC are true! Super super green and humid and super southern. Some people I cant even understand through their accents even though it is English hahahah it's so great I LOVE THE PEOPLE!!! And the spirit here is amazing I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!!! I HAVE BEEN FEASTING ON THE WORDS OF CHRIST LIKE NEVER BEFORE!!!! NEVER TAKE THE BOOK OF MORMON FOR GRANTED, STUDY IT AND APPLY IT!!! ITS SO GOOD!!!!
I'd love to hear from you all!!! Ask any questions or just wanna talk!
LOVE YOU ALL!!!
